Stained glass roundel - Leaf
This collection of stained glass roundels, of which there are six, depict various images on windows in the Cathedral. This roundel is found on the armorial window underneath the scene of Sebastopol. The window has the arms and motto of the Royal Irish Regiment and the window is a memorial to the men who fell at the siege of Sebastopol in the Crimean War. It is situated beside the stairs to the organ loft.
This hand painted stained glass hanging ornament is part of craft history dating back a thousand years.
